Resolves target via a public DNS resolver (1.1.1.1, follows CNAME
chains automatically) and checks that at least one of the resulting
A records matches one of the gateway IPs. Used by the frontend to
validate a user's DNS configuration before issuing a TLS certificate.
Returns 200 with no body on success, 500 otherwise.
